INVESTMENT GUIDE
If you’ve already read through my services page, you know that Rowan Made’s services begin with branding and extend to whatever else you may need. I’ve divided this page into three sections: branding, collateral, and website design. This way, you can better understand what’s included as well as the typical investment for each. As you scroll, remember that you don’t have to do everything right away. I have an ongoing relationship with most of my clients and work on collateral and / or website design on an as needed basis. Start where you are able and grow from there. :)
01. SOUL BRAND IDENTITY
SOUL BRAND BLUEPRINT (*opt.) — PRIMARY LOGO
SECONDARY LOGO — MARKS
BRAND PATTERN — COLOR PALETTE
FONT PAIRINGS — ONE COLLATERAL ITEM

Investment for branding is fairly set in stone and typically falls within $7-8K. Factors that alter price include any changes to deliverables, as well as whether or not a soul brand blueprint is needed (see related questions below). This is something we’ll discuss before I put together an estimate.
If you move forward with branding only, the total investment would be split into halves, with 50% due up front and 50% due at the completion of your project. If you need a longer term payment plan, just let me know. :)

I've always had a knack for understanding the energy of who I’m working with, which naturally wound itself within my design process over the years. In 2022, after four years of study, I began integrating astrology into my process as well. The latter weaves my intuitive skillset with a system backed by thousands of years of collective observation. It fits. It flows. It gets me to the HEART of a brand that much quicker.
There is only one you and my job is to make sure that your brand reflects the core essence of who you are so that you can effortlessly show up, lead, and attract from a place of true authenticity.
In practice, this looks like an astrology reading as it relates to your business. It’s really fun. ;) We’ll go over your central archetype, how you naturally lead (which, spoiler alert, is often different from traditional marketing advice), your underlying why, your innate voice, how you best take action, your soul clients (who you naturally attract), your career influences, aligned service offerings, and so much more, blending all of your unique energy together into one succinct blueprint.
From there, I will translate said energy into visual inspiration in the form of creative direction for type, tone, illustration, color, etc.
This is the work that LIGHTS ME UP and I’m so excited to begin integrating it within my process in a big way.
-
Please read the above question for more information on what this includes.
For most people, a soul brand blueprint is something I recommend. There is a lot of conditioning out there as to how we should run a business that is directly opposed to our innate energy, which ends up taking the magic and flow out what it means to run an aligned business. The magic IS you and my goal is to affirm who you already are and help you amplify your unique skills and values.
That said, if you prefer to skip this part of the process and already have an extremely CLEAR direction as to what you’d like for design, or if you have a good idea of what you’d like and simply need to save money, I’m beta testing a “starter brand” service that will decrease the overall deliverables as well as the investment by $2Kish. It’s still in the works, so there isn’t anything formally written up about it yet. If you’re interested, please let me know and we can discuss a package that works best for you.

01. DISCOVER: To begin, I dive deep and get to know your brand so that we can develop an authentic identity from the ground up. This is done through a questionnaire that goes beyond surface level, as well as an astrology reading as it relates to your business.
02. BLUEPRINT: You’ll receive a soul brand blueprint, which is explained in detail a few questions up. This will set the stage both strategically and visually for how we move forward in the design phase.
03. DESIGN: Using everything I've gathered so far, I'll begin developing concepts. I take a one concept approach when it comes to design, playing with a variety of directions up front and narrowing down as I go in order to deliver a strong and succinct solution for your brand (see example).
04. REFINE: Through two rounds of refinement, we’ll discuss what's working as well as any potential opportunities to grow. My job is to make sure that what we’re creating aligns with the truth of who you are and what your brand brings to the table as well as what your people need, so honest communication is key.
05. FINALIZE: Once everything is finalized and approved, you’ll receive a final brand package and brand guidelines document (see example) so that you have all of the files and tools needed to successfully launch your brand into the world!

The reason one collateral item is included for free is because I love seeing and sharing branding concepts on real world applications. It helps me ensure brand usability and helps my clients envision what their branding can look like beyond a PDF document.
And so, I figured, why not include something my client can actually use?
Because this is a free collateral item, the following are included for you to choose between: business cards, notecard, hang tag, tote bag, stickers, buttons, up to 4 custom icons, or up to 2 social media feed or story templates.
Any other collateral that’s needed would be added on separately and is outlined in the collateral section below.
-
This one’s tricky. MOST of the time, I choose to only work with clients who go through the full branding process with me. This is because as a designer, it allows me to understand the inner workings of a brand identity on a deeper level and ensures that I’m the right fit, aesthetically speaking.
That said, there are a few cases in which I’ll break this rule. If you already have a solid brand strategy in place that I can review AND your brand’s aesthetic is something I feel comfortable designing within, I’d be happy to consider working with you on projects outside of branding (ie: collateral and / or website design).
Simply ask and we’ll go from there.
-
Turn around time varies depending on project scope, as well as client response time. But typically, branding takes around 8 weeks from start to finish.
If you choose to add on collateral and / or website design, as described further down this page, additional time will be added on and I’ll be sure to give you an estimate.
ADD ONS
02. COLLATERAL
Collateral is any print, digital, or package design asset that supports your brand. While the base branding package, as described above, comes with one small item, you can always add on more. There really is no limit to what you can do here and for that reason, there is no base package. Simply let me know what you need and I’ll include it within your estimate.
-
While investment for collateral truly depends on how much collateral you need, as well as the overall complexity, items can be divided into three buckets:
01. SIMPLE COMPLEXITY: Things like stickers, buttons, packaging tape, tissue paper, stamps, single icons, etc. are considered simpler in complexity and typically cost $100-300 per item.
02. MEDIUM COMPLEXITY: Things like business cards, notecards, letterheads, hang tags, labels, social media templates, icon suites, informational pages, apparel, tote bags, etc. are considered middle of the road in complexity and typically cost $400-750 per item.
03. HEAVY COMPLEXITY: Things like informational PDF’s / pricing guides / journals (aka: multiple page documents), complex package design, heavily illustrated package or print design, etc. are considered the most complex and typically start around $750 per item, but can vary greatly depending on the amount of content that needs to be designed.
My suggestion is to let me know everything that you’d like so that I can include it in your estimate. Then, if needed, you can add / subtract items depending on budget.
If you move forward with branding and collateral design together, the total investment would be split into thirds, with 1/3 due up front, 1/3 due when branding is complete, and 1/3 due at project completion. If you need a longer term payment plan, just let me know. :)
-
Collateral items are designed after branding is complete, since your brand identity will inform how everything else is designed.
The process is very similar to branding, where you’ll be presented with one initial concept for each item. You will then be able to provide feedback through two rounds of refinement.
-
For print design, I recommend MOO, Smartpress, and Paper Chase Press. For package design, I recommend No Issue, Packlane, and Georgette. You can always do your own research as well.
The actual cost of printing will not be included in the estimate I give you, but you can click around at the above sites to get a feel for overall cost. If printing is involved in your project, you will receive print ready files that you will be able to upload and order through your chosen print company.
If you would like a bit more hand holding when it comes to selecting and communicating with your printer beyond the above recs, I’m happy to add print coordination on to your estimate. And if you have package design that requires product sourcing (ie: bottles, boxes, bags, etc.) you’d like help with, I can add on sourcing for that as well.
-
Turn around time varies depending on how much collateral you need. If it’s just a few items, 2 weeks is usually enough. If you have more than that, 2-4 weeks is a more accurate time frame. Don’t worry, I’ll be sure to give you a timeline estimate.
03. WEB DESIGN
For the vast majority of my clients, I recommend Squarespace for informational websites and Shopify for e-commerce websites (if you know you need something different, let me know). Because each and every website is unique in terms of pages, capabilities, etc., there is no base package. Simply let me know what functionality you need and I’ll included it within your estimate.
-
Investment for web design is the hardest to pin point up front, because it depends on how many pages you need, as well as overall functionality.
Basic information websites (aka: no e-commerce) are hosted on Squarespace and begin around $7-10K for design. All design can be done without a coder, so no additional cost is necessary.
Complex websites (aka: e-commerce) are hosted on Shopify and begin around $10-12K for design. If we customize a pre-existing template, all design can be done without a coder, so no additional cost is needed. If you’d like something built from scratch, I’ll bring in a coder, which does increase the cost.
My suggestion is to let me know what kind of website you’d like (Squarespace or Shopify), as well as what pages you’ll need, so that I can include everything in your estimate.
If you’re still unsure of which route to take, let me know and I would be happy to discuss the pros / cons of Squarespace and Shopify!
Alternatively, if you really want a website that looks good, but find that your budget doesn’t allow for something custom (yet!), consider purchasing a pre-designed template for Squarespace or Shopify. Most sell for around $200 and can be found through a quick Etsy or Pinterest search. I’ve had many clients start this way and come back to me a year or two later for something custom!
If you move forward with branding and website design together, the total investment would be split into thirds, with 1/3 due up front, 1/3 due when branding is complete, and 1/3 due at project completion. If you need a longer term payment plan, just let me know. :)

There are a few fees outside of design that you will need to consider when it comes to website design.
The first is your domain (aka: www.yoursite.com). You can purchase your domain name as an annual subscription through companies like GoDaddy or Fat Cow. There are a TON of these companies, so choose one that suits you.
The second is your website’s hosting. Or, in other words, an annual subscription through Squarespace or Shopify, depending on what platform you need.

Turn around time varies depending on which route (Squarespace or Shopify) you’ve chosen.
Most of the tame, it takes around 4-6 weeks to complete a website design.
